BodyTalk is a safe, effective and non-invasive form of energy medicine which stimulates the body’s innate ability to heal itself. In a healthy body every part of the bodymind is in constant communication with every other part. The common stresses of life tend to break down this communication, causing illness and injury. BodyTalk helps restore the natural balanced communication in the body, which can then go about its business of healing itself. BodyTalk can be used as a stand-alone system and can also be seamlessly integrated to support any other healthcare modality.
In practice, BodyTalk is a structured system involving many techniques. The BodyTalk practitioner uses muscle checking to get bio feedback from the body. Next the BodyTalk practitioner deals in priorities. The practitioner is always looking for whatever is the priority for that particular client at that particular time. Practically – this means that by using bio feedback, the practitioner finds out what techniques to use and in what sequence, in order for the clients body to heal itself in the best way possible. The BodyTalk practitioner will then use light touch and tapping to assist the natural healing response of the body.
The body is designed to heal itself. BodyTalk practitioners do not treat specific symptoms. In a BodyTalk session, the practitioner is looking for the underlying cause of the illness by looking at the physical, mental, emotional and environmental factors affecting the client. Every experience a client has had had and every choice the client has made, has brought them to their current state of health. BodyTalk therefore looks at the whole person and their whole story. Health problems are an accumulation of your whole life story. It is the job of the BodyTalk practitioner to get you from stagnation to flow so that you can use all of the resources you have inside better. Life goes up and down and your health is a reflection about how you react and cope. BodyTalk is a wonderful way to help your body work better and it can also be used as a means of maintenance and prevention to keep the body in good health.
Bruce H. Lipton, PH.D, has previously discussed the idea that individuals are only aware of their conscious beliefs and behaviors, which makes up approximately 1-5% of what is actually going on in their bodies. This can be illustrated by the picture of the iceberg.
The 1-5% of issues that we are aware of i.e. symptoms, are the part of the iceberg that is visible above the water line. However, Bruce H. Lipton, PH.D, has gone on to state that the subconscious mind is a million times more powerful than the conscious mind and that we operate 95 to 99 percent of our lives from subconscious programs. This is reflected as the majority of the iceberg below the water line.
During the course of a BodyTalk session some of the story may make sense to you, but some may not and that is OK. This may be something that is buried much deeper in the sub conscious. If you knew about it, your body would be working on it already.
This is also referred to in the Carl Jung quote:
"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate."
